Mrs. Annie Barnes Nalls, 89, of McNeil died Wednesday in the home of a son following a long illness. Mrs. Nalls was born March 4, 1875 in Ouachita County and was the daughter of john and Martha Roundtree Barnes. She had formerly made her home in Smackover and was the widow of James Bart Nalls. Survivors include three sons, J. A. Nalls of McNeil, Roy Nalls and Grover Nalls, both of El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Bailey of Shreveport and Mrs. Sally Perdue of Talco, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Britt, Smackover, and Mrs. Maggie McDuffe, Wesson, 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the First Assembly of God Church of El Dorado with the Rev. Ralph Copeland and Rev. W. H. Richardson officiating. Burial followed in Rehobeth Cemetery under direction of Rumph Mortuary. Active pallbearers were grandsons of Mrs. Nalls: James Nalls, Bill Perdue, Robert Neely, Jimmy Neely and James Bailey. Other grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. (The El Dorado Times - May 14, 1964)
