Saffell Cemetery
Lawrence County,
Arkansas

If driving north on AR 25 you will spot this cemetery at the only major intersection, if you look behind some old industrial buildings. If driving south on AR 25 you will need to turn left at this intersection and then spot the cemetery on your left.
This is the pioneer cemetery of patriarch John Anderson Saffell, and everyone but one who is buried here is family connected to that original pioneer migration.
There is no evidence of unmarked or uninscripted graves here, no fieldstones, and the good condition and disposition of the US flag mirrored the good upkeep of the grounds.
No evidence could be found of these two, listed on transcriptions as having been buried here: Henry Frakes (1909-1976), Harry Gray (1850-1898). Henry Frakes is the only person mentioned whose relation to the original Saffell pioneers cannot be ascertained.
This is a lovely place.
