January 16, 1889 - April 26, 1964
Miss Nellie Humphries, 75, of Lawson, died at a local hospital Saturday night. She was born at Lawson, Jan. 16, 1889, the daughter of William and Mattie Murphy Humphries. She was a member of Rhodes Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mertle Alphin of El Dorado and Mrs. Grace Donaldson of Joliet, Ill.; and one brother, Gordon Humphries of El Dorado. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Rhodes Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Mann officiating. Burial followed in Rhodes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Pallbearers were John L. Stegall, Bill Crow, Mac Humphries, J. W. Humphries, J. A. Tally and Crawford Jones. (The El Dorado Times - April 27, 1964)
