John Hubert Fleming
John Hubert Fleming, 76, of Oxford Passed away Tuesday, March 20, 1973, at the Fulton County Hospital of Salem. A native of Violet Hill, he was a veteran of WWI, a member of Rowden-Floyd Post No. 280 of the American Legion, and was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Blevins Fleming, of the home; one son, Remmel Fleming of Yakama, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Rowden of Webster Grove, Mo., and Mrs. Willa Rhea Rowden of Oxford; two brothers, Ben Fleming of Violet Hill and Homer Fleming of Wenatchee, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Elva Pierson of Wenatchee, Wash.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, March 22 at the Oxford Presbyterian Church with Rev. Remmel Rowden officiating. Burial was in Oxford Cemetery with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Arthur Harris, James Dockins, Herbert Moss, Bill Shepherd, Horace Yancey, and Orly Moss.
