Los Angeles, April 22.— John W. Maxwell, 34 years old, Frankie Hunter, 30, and George Hume, 31, all of Hollywood, were found crushed to death in the wreckage of an automobile near Inglewood, a suburb, Tuesday. The woman and two men had been dead for six hours, autopsy surgeons estimated, when the bodies were found as a fog lifted at dawn. The automobile, a new model, was demolished. The broken speedometer indicated it was traveling more than 70 miles an hour when it left the road, leaped an embankment and ran into a tree. Investigation disclosed a broken flask in Hume's pocket, which led police to believe the trio had been drinking. Hume, an actor, formerly appeared in vaudeville acts at his home in Richmond, Ind. ***** John W. Maxwell, referred to above, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Maxwell of Siloam Springs and is well known here. His wife, from whom he has been separated for several months, was formerly Miss Bertha Glass, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Glass of Gentry. Mrs. Maxwell is now living in Tulsa, Okla.
