G.W. McNutt, Sr. is buried in a field near Union Cemetery, between Saffell and Dowdy on Route 25, on the land he worked during his life. He is reportedly buried alone there and his is the lone stone visible from the highway near the Latting and Sharp properties.
His son, G.W. McNutt, Jr., second wife Mary Jane Perkins McNutt and numerous descendants are buried a few miles away at the McNutt-Perrin Cemetery south of Saffell. His third wife, Elizabeth "Betsey" Perkins Barr (sister of Mary Jane), is buried within view of G.W. McNutt, Sr. at Union Cemetery.
