John D. 'Jack' Miller, 70, of Mt. Home died Thursday, Nov 20, 2008, at his residence. A Funeral Mass will be 10AM Monday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Fanrak as celebrant. Visitation will be noon to 9PM Sunday at Roller Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8PM. A Vigil Service will be 7PM Sunday in Roller Chapel with Deacon Robert Crawford officiating.
He was born Sep 11, 1938, in Park Falls, WI, to Sylvester I. and Marian Frances Bechman Miller. On Sep 10, 1994, he married Carmelita Hernandez in Mt. Home. A US Army Korean War veteran, he retired from TI Trailers and Baxter Healthcare. He was a member of the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and VFW Ozark Post 3246. He enjoyed fishing, building model airplanes and growing roses and other flowers.
Survivors are his wife, Carmelita Miller of the home; two sons, Trent (Jody) Miller and Todd (Vanessa) Miller, all of Mt. Home; a daughter, Lisa (Brad) Waltrip of Mt. Home; two step sons, Bruce (Tammy) Gruve of Arlington, Texas and Robert (Linda) Gunter of Flippin; a step daughter, Michele Cole (Don Farris)of Gassville; 11 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment will follow the service at Galatia Cemetery.
