Died Jan 30, 2025

Steven Elliot Jones, 41, of Hot Springs, Arkansas left this world on January 30, 2025. He was born at home in Little Rock, Arkansas to mother Chrys (Robertson) Largent and Roland Jones. Steven was known by Ewe among close family and friends the last year of his life.

He is survived by his grandmother “Mimi” Martha J Nosal, aunts Robin Hart, Annalee Cobb, and uncle Greig Robertson, his cousin Felicia Smith, and his mother Chrys. He is also survived by two stepfathers, Greg Roberts and Steve Wynn, who have always loved him deeply and considered him a son and his stepbrother Chris Jones. He leaves behind his half-siblings Reese Roberts, Olivia Wynn-Casey, and Dalton Wynn and his chosen brother, Juzeh Correia, who was a constant in his adult life and is considered to be family.

To know Steven “Ewe” Jones was to know awe, wonder, and a sense of deep connection to the earth and living things around us. He was a creative in all things and was able to build an extensive skill set simply because he decided not to put limitations on his ability. He burned so brightly and lived many lives – from exploring marine biology to being a farmer to creating art through jewelry, painting, and working with stones and bismuth.

He was always a creative person and a maker of things. His paintings, jewelry, and bismuth creations were most recently featured at Collective Arts Gallery and DeSoto Rock & Gift Shop in downtown Hot Springs. He was an avid collector of gems, minerals, and rocks and made many connections among the Arkansas rock collection community. Until he recently sold off his land, he also could often be found selling goods at the Farmer’s Market in Hot Springs. He deeply understood the importance of a connection to the land from a very young age, and carried that understanding through his adult life. His artwork, jewelry, and incredible bismuth creations have been known under Infinite Onion Studios and Ewe JoneStudio. He left a legacy in his art.

Steven was too good for this world. He was a creator, an artisan, and his presence was a shining light in people’s lives. He was a lover of life, despite his struggle with living. His smile was infectious, and he had a beautiful soul. Everyone who knew Steven knew he wasn’t wired for this world, but they were better for knowing him.

If you knew Steven as Ewe, you would know he would have wanted to remind the world that there is something that resembles him deeply within all of us. For those of us that knew Ewe best, we choose to respect and honor his wishes and focus on this reality – he is no longer suffering.

Steven left us a last message on Facebook here. Per his request, the family will hold a private memorial for him in the spring and will send out invitations directly.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request you instead cultivate a garden, practice a silent and intentional appreciation for the sunrise or the wind in the trees, buy your groceries from a local farmer, or do any small act of kindness of mutual aid or volunteering that might contribute to making this world a little more livable for ALL of us. The news is overwhelming, but change begins in our own neighborhoods.

Everyone who knew Ewe will look forward to seeing him on the other side – and during every sunrise, sunset, birdsong, first sprout, quartz formation, and rainbow between now and then.
