John Van Hoffman was born June 19, 1927 in High Bridge, NJ to John Van Hoffman Sr. and Amy Hazel (Dennis) Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman passed away November 29, 2020 at home in Clinton, AR. Of Presbyterian faith, a Navy Veteran, lifelong carpenter and foreman, member of the New Jersey Carpenters Union #455. Mr. Hoffman built many hospitals, schools, and homes. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing, especially in Canada for Walleye and Pike. John was a pilot and built his own airplanes. Married 64 years to his lifelong love, Louise Ella (Henry) Hoffman who preceded him in death in 2011.
Survived by one son, John Van Hoffman III and wife Betty of Washington, NJ; three daughters, Bonnie Geraldine Hill and husband Roger of Easton, PA, Susan Jean Spencer and husband Timothy of Clinton, AR, Jane Elizabeth Bresette of Dennard, AR; one sister, Geraldine Struening of New Jersey; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.
