L.C. Dean Freeman, 87, of Searcy passed away June 27, 2020 at Unity Hospital in Searcy of a short term illness. He was born Christmas Day in 1932 to the late Levi Richard and Willie Vianice Freeman at Dardenelle.
L.C. worked in California as a grape and orange farmer in his youth. He went on to get his electrician's license and worked for Sequoyah Forest Industries in Dinuba, California. After working for Sequoyah, L.C. took a job with Dole Pineapple and retired from there as an industrial electrician. He was also an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God.
He dabbled in remodeling houses, tinkering with small engines, and most recently learning to quilt. L.C. enjoyed working with his hands and having something to show for it. He was known for helping others without expecting anything in return. His most humble mission was remodeling the Outreach Center, a homeless mission at Sallisaw, Oklahoma; he completed this while working side by side with his family. He spent over 10 years as a mentor for this mission.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Norma Jean Freeman and one son Terry Ray Freeman.
L.C. later remarried Mrs. Faye Stane at Sallisaw; she survives. He is also survived by sons, Gorddon Ray (Veleta), Randell Terry (Ro), and Michael Dean (Anna); daughters Pamela Gail Sisney (Terry), and Lori Ann McClure (Byron); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr Holman and the exceptional staff at Unity Health White County Medical Center for their compassionate care. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
A Celebration a Life Service will be held July 9, 2020 at 11:00 at Impact Ministries located at 3611 West Cherokee Sallisaw, OK.
