John Green Allen age 69 of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away December 30, 2024. He was born in Gainsborough, England, February 28, 1955 to John Green Allen Sr. and Iris Allen.
At the age of nineteen John began his service at the United States Post Office and retired after 39 years. John was very adventurous he loved fast cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed scuba diving, camping and parachuting. John was an avid collector of Civil War and WWII memorabilia. He enjoyed flea markets and estate sales always on the hunt.
John is preceded in death by his father John Allen Sr., mother Iris Allen, brother Jimmy Allen, brother-in-law William Coley and his bonus son Jay Story.
John is survived by his wife Teresa Morden Story Allen, daughter Amanda (Joe) Kelly, Wartburg, Tennessee, son Jonathan Allen and bonus son John Story II of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Granddaughters Lauren (Blade) Jackson, Josie Kelly, and Shelby Kelly of Wartburg, Tennessee. Bonus grandchildren Ajay Story of Cabot, Arkansas, Taylor (Chaunce) Umfleet of Lonoke, Arkansas, Brittany Story of Conway, Arkansas. Seeing and holding his 3-month-old Great Grandson Tommy Jackson of Wartburg, Tennessee was the highlight of 2024 for John. Great Grandchildren Chance and Elizabeth Umfleet of Lonoke, Arkansas who knew John as ‘Umpa’. Sisters Jane Coley Nairobi, Kenya and Joanne (Joe) Carmical of Cabot, Arkansas and several nieces and nephews along with his special lifelong friend, Randy Ballew of Heber Springs, Arkansas and a host of other friends.
A family-hosted gathering will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 from 2:00-5:00pm in the chapel at Jacksonville First United Methodist Church; 308 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076.
