*Obituary
Nevada County Picayune - November 26, 1915 - Prescott, Arkansas

When the sun began to set, on Nov.16th, 1915, the sad news came top Prescott that Earnest Billingsly was dead. He had suffered since August 4th, when he was hit by a limb from a falling tree while at work for the Valley Lumber Company of Reeder Arkansas. He was born Oct. 1oth, 1887 near Prescott, Arkansas, and while small moved with his parents to Sayre, Ark., and there grew to manhood and was married to Miss Artie Stinnett on Sept. 8th, 1911. To this union was born two little girls, one of whom has passed into the great beyond. Earnest obeyed the gospel when quite young, under the preaching of Bro. Denton, at Bluff City, and lived so as not to be afraid to die. He was of a bright, sunny disposition, and was loved by all who knew him. His life was for his Master. Earnest died where manhood almost touches noon. He laid down and using his burden for a pillow, fell into a peaceful slumber. While yet in love with life and peace with the Savior, he passed into silence and dust. He leaves his wife and one sweet little baby girl, an aged mother, five brothers, and three sisters, a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. May their loss be his eternal gain, may God bless and comfort the bereaved ones in their grief that they may be encouraged to take their cross and press on to the end. May they realize that this life is but an isthmus between two eternities. He has climbed the lofty heights and left all sin and sorrow far below, while on his forehead fell the golden dawn of eternal day. Earnest is with his Savior, where there will be no more parting, no tears shed, but all is love, joy and peace. After bidding them all goodbye, he closed his weary eyes in death. Words of consolation and prayer being offered by Bro. Stell, his remains were laid to rest in Bluff City cemetery, there to await the Resurrection Morn. Mrs. Jack Billingsley
