Emmett T. Shepperd age 59 of Hot Springs went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013. He was born November 24, 1953 in Louisville, MS to Troy and Joyce Hemphill Shepperd. His father preceded him in death as well as his infant sister, Debbie Shepperd.
Emmett was a faithful member of Cherry Street Temple of Jesus Name Church where he served as a Deacon, Transportation Ministry and played the Bass Guitar. He retired from Loomis Armored Company after many years of service. Emmett was a loving husband, son, father, brother and friend to many.
His memories will forever be cherished by his wife of 30 years, Darlene Smith Shepperd of Hot Springs; his mother, Joyce Shepperd of Louisville, MS; one son, William Shepperd of Hot Springs; two daughters, Meagan Shepperd-Adair and her husband Timothy of Benton and Laura Kersten and her husband, Brandon of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Regina (Ricky) Higginbotham of Louisville, MS; his five week old grandson, Elijah Kersten; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clyde (Georgia) Smith of Conway; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Cherry St. Temple of Jesus Name Church 103 Cherry Street with Rev. Jerry Stewart and Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the church.
