*Obituary
Gary Wayne Sanders, born October 1, 1953 to Cecil and Ada Sanders on Battlefield Loop in Spring Hill, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children, on Monday, September 16, 2024.

Gary Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ada Sanders, sisters: Vicki Lynn Sanders, Kathy Sanders-Bass, Cecile Sanders-Lane, Jenny Duckett, Carolyn Russell, and Frances Adams; brother, W.T. Sanders; and nephews: Billy Sanders and Mark Russell.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Tommy Wayne Sanders, wife Misty, of Romance, Arkansas; daughters: Melissa Moore, husband Jory, of Genoa, Arkansas, and Trish Steed, husband Jeffrey, of Spring Hill, Arkansas; grandchildren: Jessica Hollinshead (Travis), Michael Jones, Alec VanFossen, Macie Lea Young, Kaden McBay (Betty), Timothy Wayne Sanders, Allison Steed, Kobe Steed (Abbi), Samantha Sanders, Mollie McBay, Dalton Moore, and Parker Steed; and seven great grandchildren; brothers: Bill Sanders and Rick Sanders; sisters: Joyce Black (Jimmy) and Brenda Watson; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Cheryl Biddle.

A devoted family man, Gary's love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. They were the center of his world, and his heart overflowed with pride and joy for each of them.

Gary built countless friendships through his passion for fast cars—especially those "Built Ford Tough"—burning barrel conversations with a cold drink in hand and a Winston 100 between his fingers. Known for always having a Mustang prepped and ready for the track, Gary’s love for speed was matched only by his commitment to his family.

A hardworking man, Gary worked tirelessly from sunup to sundown to provide for those he loved. Over the years, he was employed at Hope Iron & Metal, Carpet Cushion, and Southern Bakeries, from which he retired in 2017.

He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Mechanized Cavalry, 1st Battalion, Company J.

Gary’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
