Elton "Sonny" Sipes age 73, of Warren, AR died Saturday, January 26th, at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce, AR. He was born June 16th, 1945 in Portland, OR, a son of the late Elton Buril Sipes and Myrtle Elizabeth Martin Sipes. He was in the Arkansas National Guard, worked as a Boilermaker and for 32 plus years operated the body shop at Trotter Ford in Pine Bluff, AR.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Brown Sipes, whom he married January 20th, 1966 in Hermitage, AR. 3 daughters Angela McGhan and spouse Jerry, Warren, AR, Kelly Everoad-Forrest and spouse Caleb, Warren, AR and Carolyn Sipes and friend Jeffery Forrest, Warren, AR. A brother Michael Sipes and spouse Sandra, Bryant, AR. 8 grandchildren Tamara, Clarissa, Allison, Jerry Lee, Brittany, Rachel, Alea and Aryn. 3 great-grandchildren Keller, Sam and DJ.
Funeral services were 1:30PM Wednesday, January 30th at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Michael Gardner officiating. Linda Barrett was organist. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jerry Lee McGhan, Tracy Forrest, Seth Rangel, Coleman Horn, Michael R. Sipes, Jeffery Forrest, Jeff Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. James Kane, Heath Reep, John B. Frazer, Jr., and John Burkhart.
