*Obituary
Last Wednesday night about 8:00 o'clock, John A. Marr, postmaster of this city, died at his home in the western part of town very suddenly. Mr. Marr had been in ill health for several years, but the end came rather suddenly with apoplexy. He was serving his last year as postmaster here, having taken the office in the summer of 1914. He leaves a widow and several children and a host of friends to mourn his death. His remains were laid to rest last Sunday in DeAnn cemetery, Revs. J. A. Sage of the Methodist church and J. R. Williams of the Presbyterian church conducted the funeral services. (Nevada County Picayune - December 16, 1920)
