V. V. "Rube" Fletcher, 88 of Fort Smith, Arkansas died Friday, February 4, 2005, in a local hospital. He was born November 29, 1916, in Bauxite, Arkansas. He was one of the original owners of Southland Furniture Inc., a member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, an avid fisherman and a staunch Republican. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ocie Mae Fletcher; and son, John V. Fletcher.
Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith.
He is survived by two daughters, and one brother-in-law Shannon, a son, a daughter-in-law, a sister, a stepbrother, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
