Ronny Alan Rogers, 41, of Fordyce, AR died Wednesday February 24, 2010. Ronny was born in Mobile, AL on June 5, 1968.
Ronny was a Civil Engineer for the Arkansas Highway & Transportation Department. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, & was a founding member of the University of Arkansas Ski Team. He was also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering, President of the Kauffman-Vetter Cemetery Association, & served on the board of the Dallas County Farm Bureau. Ronny's true passion was his family & community. Ronny followed his daughter, & son through many states while they played travel Softball, & Baseball. He served as a volunteer board member, & coach for the Fordyce Little League program from 2003 until his passing. He spent countless hours at the Fordyce Little League field, helping with the upkeep of the fields, & was instrumental in building a state of the art batting cage, & securing the funding for a new scoreboard at the baseball field.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Candie Rogers; his parents Rupert & Barbara Rogers of Fordyce, AR; a son, Ross Rogers of Fordyce, AR; a daughter, Ashlea Rogers of Fordyce, AR; a brother, Ric Rogers & his wife Angie of Killen, AL; a niece, Kendyl Rogers of Killen, AL; & a nephew, Blake Rogers of Killen, AL.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday February 27, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church in Fordyce. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery, with the Rev. B.L. Blann, Rev. Stacy Reed, & Rev. Rusty Blann officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Fordyce Little League, P.O. Box 792, Fordyce, AR 71742. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
