This historical cemetery marker is located on Odom Blvd and Waterside Dr in west Maumelle.
The gate is locked. Just 9 known gravesites are located here. Most are native stone and the information is very hard to read if readable at all.
The 9 are known burials here in this cemetery. Martha Pyeatte King, Birdie Mason, Catherine Finley Pyeatte, James Pyeatte, Baby Pyeatte, Andrew Scott, Jane H Scott, Jemima Pyeatte Scott, J E Mason. There are probably more but not marked.
This settlement was a Evangelical Cumberland Presbyterian Church which was a member of the Presbyterian Church of America.
The Pyeatte and Carnahan were some of the first to settle this area. Jacob Pyeatte moved to Cane Hill area of Washington, County Arkansas. The brothers operated a ferry across the Arkansas River and farmed the area, called Pyeattes Town.
Rev John Carnahan was the first preacher in this part of the state.
