Charles E. Campbell of Little Rock passed away on January 16, 2017. He was 82 years old.
He was born on November 1, 1934, in Bethune, South Carolina to parents, Eddie Dubose and Mamie Rebecca Stewart Campbell.
In 1955, Charles began his career with International Paper Company where he worked for 40 years before retiring in 1995. While working for International Paper, Charles also lived in North Carolina, Greenwood, South Carolina, Texarkana, Texas, Jay, Maine, Bastrop, Louisiana, Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Georgetown, South Carolina.
In 1958, Charles married Gloria Howard Campbell. Charles and Gloria were married 52 years before her untimely passing on Mother's Day, 2010.
Charles is survived by their two sons, Charles H. Campbell of Texarkana, Texas and Howard Gregory Campbell of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Chad, Courtney, Erin, Leah and Brittany; two great grandchildren; his sister, Betty Wiggins of Andrews, South Carolina and good friend, Barbara Breen of Little Rock.
Charles was also preceded in death by his brother, Jennings Campbell and his sister, Carolyn Cottingham, both of Georgetown, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 pm, Friday, January 20, 2017 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211, (501) 224-8300.
