Billy F. Riley, 83, of Hamburg, died Friday, February 28, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Riley was a native and lifelong resident of Ashley County. He worked for Georgia-Pacific Forestry and Tucker Oil Company for many years. Mr. Riley was a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed raising cattle, wagon riding, and hunting.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Novella Morrow Riley; four sisters, LaVon Riley Miller, Pauline Riley Estelle, Jayne Riley Allen and Mattie Pearl Riley Kilcrease and three brothers, Arthur Riley, Kenneth Riley and Floyd Riley.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene High Riley of Hamburg; three daughters, Julia Riley Cranford and husband, Dennis, of Ridgeland, Mississippi, Beth Riley West of Boiling Springs, South Carolina and Gloria Riley Forrest and husband, Chris, of Hamburg; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2020, at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Josh Luellen and Bro. Trey Emory officiating. Burial will be in the Promise Land Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Cody Forrest, Steven Ricks, Benjamin Cranford, Hunter Cranford, Philip Cranford and Caden Archer..
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
