Roy Lynn Chaloner, 72, of Murfreesboro, AR, passed away on July 31, 2021. He was born January 18, 1949, in Little Rock, AR to John Thomas and Margie Mills Chaloner.
Roy was an avid Amateur Radio operator since the age of 16. The HAM radio community was a large part of his life where he met and developed life-long friendships all over the country. His latest hobby was homemade winemaking. He was a member of the Congo Masonic Lodge No. 743, and a member of North Fork Missionary Baptist Church in Paron, AR.
Roy served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War before joining the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Roy retired from the AGFC after 22 years of service in various roles including communications and education but being a "Possum Cop" watching over the critters as a Game Warden was his passion. After retiring, Roy began his own alarm and security company, RC Alarms. He also served on the Arkansas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security for Governor Huckabee in addition to being one of the first concealed handgun instructors in the state of Arkansas. He finished his working career for KBR in Afghanistan where he supported U.S. Troops on the base serving in the alarm and communications space.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Phillip Thomas Chaloner.
Roy is survived by his wife Patricia Nabors Chaloner of 42 years, son Kevin (Maggie), daughter Kimberly (Jake Horne), grandsons Cole & Benjamin Chaloner, and Jett Horne. He is also survived by his sister Liz Chaloner, and mother-in-law Elizabeth Nabors.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to North Fork Missionary Baptist Church 22160 AR- 9 Paron, AR 72122. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at North Fork Missionary Baptist Church with Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m..
