James Lee "Jim" Hilborn went to be with the Lord peacefully on December 24, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born May 22, 1938 to M.L. and Iva King Hilborn in Malvern, Arkansas.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, E.L. Hilborn; and sister, Geneva Ledbetter.
Jim worked as a supervisor at General Cable, Pirelli Cable, and Reynolds Cable. He then started Hilborn Distribution, Inc., selling automotive chemicals to car dealers and auto shops all over the state. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and listening to gospel singing. Jim was a member of the Church of Philadelphia and was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, affectionately known as "Sug", Arleva Speers Hilborn, married on May 31, 1958; daughter, Sheila Adams; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Becky Hilborn, all of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Josh May (Amberly), Tyler, Zach, Spence, and Isaac Hilborn, all of Hot Springs, Nathan Adams (Heather) of Scott AFB, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Ryder and Avalon May, Tegan Hilborn, Alexis and Brooklynn Adams; sisters, Lorice Fite, Vivian Gammill, Glenda Crites (Harlan), Janelle Dyer (Austin) of Malvern; brother, Otis Hilborn (Alice) of Frankfurt, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Eunice Melton, Arlena Reed; brother-in-law, Harry Speer of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Josh May, Ryder May, Tyler Hilborn, Zach Hilborn, Spencer Hilborn, and Isaac Hilborn.
Honorary pallbearers are Gentiva / Kindred Hospice Care, Dr. Bharany, his nurse Lonna and all the CNAs and nurses who helped take care of daddy, Crawford Pharmacy and deliverers, and James who came by every day.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
