Leon C. Pickard, 80 of Benton, passed away October 6, 2014. He was born February 22, 1934 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to the late Frank and Stella Crump Pickard. Leon was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Benton, worked at Reynolds Metals Company and served in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged from the US Army on October 29, 1956 with the rank of Private First Class (SP3)

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Alger, Elden, and Hollis Pickard, sister, Melba McCarrol.

Survivors, wife, Anna Pickard of Benton, sons, Rev. Timothy Pickard and wife, Deborah of Toronto Ontario, Canada, Rev. Ronald Pickard and wife, Tabetha of Boswell, Oklahoma, daughters, Sonia Purdy and husband, Ronald of Benton, Amanda Simonds and husband, Jeffrey of San Antonio, Texas, grandchildren, Alisha Curtis and husband, Josh of Benton, Brandon Purdy and wife, Nicole of San Diego, California, Nathaniel Pickard, Michal Cheverie and husband, Jordan of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Denae Pickard, Brooke Pickard, Ethan Stroud, Chad Purdy and wife, Angie of Benton.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Cheverie, Josh Curtis, Kyle Mitchell, Nathan Pickard, Brandon Purdy and Ron Purdy.

Chapel Services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Timothy Pickard and Rev. Ronald Pickard officiating. Burial will follow at Fowler Cemetery in Paron.

Visitation will be Friday at Ashby Funeral Home, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
