Dr. Roberts was the oldest son of Rev Braxton McCord Roberts and Mary Adaline Headlee Roberts.
According to Dr. Roberts' obituary, he died at St. Vincent's Infirmary and was survived by his wife (Luda); three daughters, Mrs. Mark Goodson (Mary Addie) and Misses Lyda and Oda Roberts; his three sons, Wayland G., Dr. D. W. Roberts, and R. W. Roberts; by four brothers, Dr Carson Roberts, Dr. Cord Roberts, the Rev. Mont Roberts, and Theodore Roberts.
Dr. Roberts was married twice: Mary Susannah Farr and then Luda Guthrey, both in Montgomery County, Arkansas.
Even though the marker shows he died in 1920, the Arkansas Death Index indicates Dr. Roberts died in 1921 in Pulaski County as well as his obituary.
*When Wayland Deweese Roberts was born in 1857 in Missouri, his father, Braxton, was 47 and his mother, Mary, was 25. He married Mary Suzanne Farr-Roberts and they had two children together. He then married Luda M Roberts and they had three children together. He died on February 17, 1921, in Brazil at the age of 64, and was buried in Paron, Arkansas.
