Nina Jewel Vinson of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas
February 3, 1938 - May 4, 2024
Nina Jewel Vinson, 86, of Walnut Ridge passed from this life on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab. She was born February 3, 1938, in Walnut Ridge to the late Lonel “L.F.” and Gladys (Warner) Fry. Nina was a homemaker, farmer’s wife working on the family farm, and a custodian at Egypt school district during her lifetime. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Walnut Ridge. She was very active in her children’s lives, loved her children and grandchildren, and taught Sunday school.
In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Rorex and second husband, Ernest Vinson; son, Samuel “Buddy” Rorex Jr.; three brothers, and six sisters; and grandson, David Way; and great-great grandson, William Rodriguez.
She is survived by her son, Tony Scott Rorex of Corning; four grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Merle Fry of Jonesboro; and a host of other family members.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Funeral services will follow immediately at 1 p.m. with Tim Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Markham Cemetery in Egypt under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.
