Wanda Fay Jones was born on December 24, 1931 to Wilbert and Pansy Jones. She grew up in Perryville, Arkansas as a shy girl on her parents farm. In 1950 she graduated from Perryville High School and not long after she decided to strike out on her own at the age of nineteen. She went with a friend to Hobart, Oklahoma and worked as a soda jerk. Then in 1951 She decided to pack up and move to Dallas, Texas to be close to her brother Ray. In August of 1952 she landed a job with Texas Power and Light(now known as TXU) as a filing clerk. She bought books about how to be a secretary and how to type and taught herself everything she needed to know about how to be a secretary and it paid off. After becoming a secretary she worked very hard and eventually moved up to being an accountant. She worked very hard and made lots of friends in downtown Dallas. Between 1967 & 1968 she met her future husband, Clifton Woods. They married on October 14, 1968. They had their first and only child together, Teresa in 1970. Not long after Teresa was born Wanda divorced Cliff in 1970. So at the age of 38 Wanda was a new mom and a single mom. When Teresa was 5 years old Wanda bought a house in Dallas, Texas not far from her brother Ray and his wife Pat. Wanda worked really hard earning a living and taking care of her daughter Teresa all by herself. There were some tough times but they always seemed to make it. After 35 years with the company she took the early retirement package and retired in 1987. That same year her daughter Teresa married Ronald Christie and in 1988 Wanda's first grandchild was born, Ronald Jr. Then in 1989 her second and last grandchild was born, Crystal. Wanda loved being retired and being a grandmother. In 1993 she moved in with Teresa, Ron and the grand kids so she could take care of the kids while
Ron and Teresa worked. In 1995 she sold her house on Royal Lane in Dallas, Texas. Wanda loved living with Ron, Teresa and the grand kids. She loved watching football and nascar with the family. She would always go with the family to the nascar races when they were in town. She also loved country music. Her favorite was Brooks -n- Dunn. She will always be a very dear part of this family and she will be missed very much. Rest in peace mama. Love, your Treese.
