Farmerville, La. - Elder Williams, 89, of Huttig, died Jan. 3. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Williams, he was born June 9, 1884 in Downsville, La. He was a deacon of Batts Chapel Baptist Church in Huttig and was a retired farmer. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Leeaner Williams, five sons, Survay Williams, Leeaner Williams, and Leon Williams, all from Strong, Henry Williams, Los Angeles, Calif., and Raymond Williams, Portland, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. Lilly Louis, Midland, Tex., Mrs. Annie Mae Perry, Strong, and Mrs. Thelma Taylor, Urbana; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Roper, Calhoun, La., and Mrs. Beatrice Gray, Downsville; five brothers, Jim Williams and Perry Williams, both from Downsville, Florence Williams, Farmerville, and Tilman Williams, Monroe; 24 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Batts Chapel Baptist Church, Huttig Hwy., with the Rev. G. F. Abson and Rev. F. W. West officiating. Burial will be in Batts Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Union Funeral Home of Farmerville. The family will stay at the home of Survay Williams in Strong. (El Dorado Times - January 9, 1974)
