Feb 4, 1964 - Dec 19, 2023

Carl David Spring, 59, of North Little Rock, passed away on December 19, 2023 at Home Hospice Care in Little Rock.

Carl was born in Durand, Michigan, on February 4, 1964 to Robert and Patsy Spring – the fourth of five children. The family moved to Jacksonville, Arkansas in 1971 and to Little Rock in 1978. Carl graduated Central High School in 1982.

Growing up, Carl enjoyed playing sports, fishing, cars, and singing. One of his proudest high school moments was being selected to be a member of the Arkansas Boys’ Choir to represent Arkansas in the 1980 summer Olympics.

Carl spent many years in the Hillcrest area of Little Rock making great friends and good pizzas at US Pizza and Hillcrest Liquor. There he befriended Ed Vance who, along with Kay Oxford, began a fledgling collections business at Access Credit. Carl joined ACMI as a part time collector in 1990. Over the next 30 years, he helped build the business and eventually became a partner.

Carl was an avid guitar player. He played around the Little Rock area with several bands in the 1990’s-early 2000’s and was never without a song in his heart. He could always be counted on to whip out a guitar and entertain with a “Carl-ized” version for sing-alongs.

Carl loved the outdoors and enjoyed nothing more than spending the weekends out in nature. He enjoyed hiking, kayaking, fishing, and taking photographs of our beautiful state.

Though never married, Carl leaves a legacy of deep family connections and friendships. He was Godfather to five: Zach, Jacob, Caylann, Robert, and Zachary. He took that honor very seriously and endeavored to be an example and guiding hand to all of them.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings: Jeanette (Spring) Lee, Loretta (Spring) Bogle, Brian Spring, and Julie (Spring) Stover. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, his Godchildren, and a deep well of true friends: His Good Friend Dawn Williams, Mike, Tommy, Mark, Kim, and too many others to name.

Services will be held Thursday, January 4 at 2:00 pm at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Arrangements by A Natural State Funeral Service 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. 501-982-3400. Online guestbook available at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com
