Harold C. Rowan, Jr., 76, of El Dorado passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock, AR.
He was born April 19, 1939 in El Dorado to Harold C. Rowan, Sr. and Dorothy Littrell Rowan. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1957 and went on and graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1961 with a degree in accounting. Harold was stationed at Fort Richie, Maryland from 1962 to 1963. He worked at Murphy Oil until retirement in 2001. He has been an active member of the Jaycees and had been active in scouting. Harold grew up in the First Methodist Church of El Dorado and in later years became a member of East Main Baptist. He loved traveling with his friends, playing the piano, gardening, and was an amateur radio operator.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
Survivors include his brother, William L. Rowan (Darla) of Austin, TX; his cousins, Barbara Hogg (David) of El Dorado, AR, Harry Littrell of Dallas, TX, Ellis Evans of Camden, AR and Fred Littrell of New Zealand.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Young’s Chapel with Rev. Brian Thomas officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the funeral home. (Young's Funeral Home - El Dorado, Arkansas)
