*When Sherman Sherfield Sooter was born on March 2, 1898, in Arkansas, his father, William, was 23 and his mother, Rosella, was 19. He married Bessie Bernice Bennett on May 4, 1926. They had one child during their marriage. He died as a young father on August 21, 1926, at the age of 28, and was buried in Pangburn, Arkansas.
