Larry Edward Romack, age 63, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away March 13, 2024, at Unity Health Medical Center in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
Brother Larry was a retired Baptist minister and pastor of Centerville Baptist Church, Shiloh Baptist Church, Navilla Baptist Church, Steep Hollow Baptist Church, and North McComb Baptist Church. He additionally served as an interim pastor, youth minister, and music minister at numerous churches across Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. His lifetime of service began at an early age when he was taken to Vacation Bible School at Berea Baptist Church in Jacksonville by Shirly Munerlyn. Brother Larry was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Along with loving the Lord and the Church, Brother Larry loved his wife, Lyndra, and his family of eight children and four grandchildren. He enjoyed his time singing, writing, watching movies, working on cars, and listening to his children and grandchildren play. Brother Larry was full of love for everyone in his community and beyond, often stating that the Great Commission is our ultimate purpose in this life, and he dedicated much of his life to mission and community service.
He is preceded in death by his biological parents Frank Romack and Patricia Romack; his parents A.J. and Shirly Munerlyn; and his two sons Jonathan and Timothy Romack.
Surviving family includes his wife, Lyndra Romack; his children Joshua (Allie Romack), Allison Alford (Philip Alford), Rebeckah Roderick (Joey Roderick), Matthew, Michael, and Christopher Romack; his sisters Tammy Fishbeck and Linda Townsend (Kieth Townsend); his brothers John Munerlyn and David Munerlyn (Pamela Munerlyn); and his grandchildren Benjamin, Levi, Judah, and Lydia Roderick; as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Family hosted Services for Brother Larry will be held at Second Baptist Church of Jacksonville, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Visitation begins at 1:30 P.M., and the funeral officiated by Rev. David Odell begins at 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Second Baptist Church of Jacksonville Mission Fund.
