Russell Freeman Kumpe Jr. (78) of Jacksonville, passed away on January 26, 2024. He was born on February 25,1945 and was raised by his grandparents Ambers and Rena Dorsey in Little Rock.
He enjoyed his many years coaching in the Jacksonville baseball program. He spent his years with the White Bag, First Federal and Fire Department teams. Russ also coached Sertoma league football for a few years and he was also a truck driver for many years until he retired.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Angela Kumpe Estell. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Barbara Ann Kumpe, his daughter Renee Hinson, and son Bradley Kumpe. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren as well as 2 sisters Linda Anderson and Laura Howard-Brettner.
Per his request, no memorial service will be held.
