Edward Roland Carper born on July 18, 1947, in Dorheim, Germany, completed his earthly journey on February 16, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, service to others, and unforgettable memories. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

Edward’s life was a testament to dedication and love. For 56 years, he shared a deep and abiding bond with his beloved wife, Nancy Arnold Carper. Together, they built a life filled with love and unwavering support for one another.

As a devoted father, Edward leaves behind his sons, Chris (Amy) and Phillip (Stephanie), whose lives he enriched with his wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love. His brothers, Tom (Theresa) and Jim (Karen) shared a special bond with Edward, forged through a lifetime of shared experiences and brotherly camaraderie.

Edward’s greatest joys were found in the laughter and joy of his grandchildren, Kenneth (Sydnie), Kate, Kyle, and Annabelle. Their presence brought him immeasurable happiness, and his love for them knew no bounds.

Edward’s life was characterized by an unwavering dedication to serving his country through the US Air Force. Beginning with his active duty service from 1966 to 1970 as Crew Chief on the B58 bomber during the Cold War at Little Rock Air Force Base, Edward exemplified commitment and valor. Later, as the manager of the Arts and Craft Wood Hobby Shop at the same base, his dedication and work ethic were unmatched.

A devout Christian, Edward lived his faith through action, dedicating much of his life to serving others with River City Ministries. His compassionate heart and generous spirit touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

During his leisure time, Edward sought solace in life’s simple joys. Whether he was casting a line in the serene waters of the Little Red River, enjoying peaceful moments in his hunting stand, or tinkering with cars, he cherished the outdoors and the thrill of automotive pursuits.

He was is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Annaleise Carper.

The family extends special thanks to the Baptist Health Pace Program, Favor Care, A Place at Home, and VA Home Health for their compassion and exceptional care during Edward’s illness.

A memorial service to celebrate Edward’s life will be held at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10 am, followed by the service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River City Church, PO Box 5029, North Little Rock, AR 72119, in honor of Edward’s dedication to serving others.

Though Edward may have departed this earthly realm, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
