ROGERS — Burl Leslie Humphrey, 78, of Rogers died Aug. 2, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born March 27, 1929, in Minco, Okla., to William and Arminda Charlton Humphrey. He was an Army veteran serving as a corporal who supervised a squad of 12 riflemen in advanced infantry training during World War II. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal, Japan. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Rogers. He enjoyed playing bingo. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Elizabeth Faelyn Reading.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Reba of the home; his children, Pamela Humphrey of Phoenix, Les Humphrey and wife Kathy of Pea Ridge, Tina Humphrey Mason and husband David of Rogers, Lisa Humphrey Reading and husband Darrell of Rogers; one stepdaughter, Anne Baker of Rogers; 11 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters.
Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, Juvenile Diabetes Association or the Autism Support Group of NWA.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Baptist Church in Rogers with the Rev. Randy Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Bland Cemetery.
