UPTON, J. Wesley - (from Greenland) Wesley Upton, age 73 years, died at his home in Fayetteville Sunday night with pneumonia after an illness of several days. He was buried Monday evening at the Baptist Ford one mile south of here. Mr. Upton came here from Madison County 12 years ago, bought a farm 1 mile north of here, lived there until a short time ago when he bought property at Fayetteville where he lived at the time of his death. He was a soldier in the civil war, fighting on the union side. He was respected by all who knew him. He leaves an aged wife, three sons, four daughters and several grand children besides numerous relatives to mourn his loss. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community.

(from Fayetteville) J.W. Upton died at his home in Southwest Fayetteville Sunday after an illness of one week. Pneumonia and other lung troubles was the cause of his death.
