*obituary
Nevada County Picayune - January 1, 1915 - Prescott, Arkansas
On Dec. 12, 1914, the death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Garrett, and claimed for its victim their oldest son, Milliard. Milliard was born Jan. 24, 1902, and died Dec. 12, 1914. He leaves Father, Mother, two sisters, three brothers, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn for him. He was sick just one week with typhoid fever. He suffered a great deal, but his sufferings is over and he is at rest now. There is a vacant chair in the home that can never be filled. The family has lost a kind and son and brother. He will be missed so much. All in vain will they listen for his footsteps and voice. But while their hearts are all torn and bleeding, yet they are consoled by the thought that Milliard is at rest. We cannot understand why these sorrows come, but God knows what is best and he doeth all things well. Milliard was just in the springtime of youth when he was taken away, so he has missed the trials and troubles of life. His schoolmates have lost a kind and loving friend. He always though so much of his friends, and called each one by name while he was sick. He was a kind and obedient pupil at school, always trying to do what pleased his teacher best. He was laid to rest in Harmony Cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. John White. A large crowd was present to pay the last tribute of love and respect. A friend, Pearl Daniell
