*The years of J.E.’s birth and death are both incorrect. Born 1839, death 1918. He was also a Civil War veteran who served in the 32nd Arkansas Infantry from 1862 until his parole in March 1865. There is an inconsistency in his date of death. According to his wife Sara’s Civil War widow’s pension application that she filed under notary seal in 1919 she attested that his date of death was in 1919. So I don’t know which is correct however 1918 is on the stone.
