John L. Braden, 90, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2015. He was born in Columbus, Texas, to the late L.E. and Mary Braden. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as a machinist.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Dorotha and a brother, Llewellyn.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Louise; son, Mike Braden (Donna); daughter, Brenda Freeland; step-daughters, Charlotte Fason (Dennis) and Betty Dillard; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held tonight at Gross Funeral Home from 5 – 7 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, at Gross Funeral Home at 10 a.m. officiated by Pastor Conley Henderson and will be followed by interment at Morning Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Roger Maddox, Jakie Weston, Joe Ratkey, Robert Ariaza, Tom Baroni, and Quint Colley.

Honorary pallbearers are the staff and residents of Country Club Village, Troy and Martha Wages and family, Mary Daniel, Gary Burgess, Linda Hogaboom, Jackie Green, Jo Ann Ratkey, Julie Ariaza, and Margaret Graves.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bharany, Dr. Frais, Dr. Grose, and the staff of 2 East at CHI St. Vincent. A very special thank you to Mary Lou Boyd for the newspaper at John’s door each morning.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arkansas School for the Blind.
