February 25, 1937 - July 3, 2013
Steve K. Blair, affectionately known as “Tippy” by family and friends, 76, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2013. He was born February 25, 1937 in Charleston, West Virginia to Marvin B. and Marquita D. Blair. Steve was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for 5 years at the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center after retiring from Engineering Specialty Plastics. Steve was a devoted member of Temple Baptist Church. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Loretta Helmstetter. Loving survivors include his wife of 51 years, Shirley Joyce; son, Gary and wife, Susan, of Jacksonville, Florida; son, John, of Hot Springs; son, Marvin K. and wife, Terri, of Thompson Station, Tennessee; brother, Dr. James D. Blair and wife, Suzette, of Atlanta, Georgia; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many “favorite” nieces and nephews. Steve’s compassionate medical care was provided by many wonderful Doctors and Nurses, led by Dr. Fred Divers. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Todd Houck. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve’s nephews.
