September 1, 1937 - November 21, 2022
"Our beloved mother Carol J. Hurt, age 85 of Fredericksburg, VA passed away peacefully on November 21, 2022 with family at her bedside. Carol was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, but after High School graduation spent her adult life living in Northern Virginia.
Mom was a compassionate and charitable person that loved socializing with her family and friends.
She was a wonderful mother and was always available when we needed her. Mom never missed a holiday, birthday, anniversary, wedding, graduation or life event with her family. She was a well-loved member of the Falls Run community and had many friends. Mom enjoyed participating in the various activities at the Falls Run Clubhouse, especially the Saturday morning breakfasts. She loved decorating her entire house for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter and Halloween. Carol always found the positive side in everyone she met and truly believed everyone was “special” in their own unique ways.
Mom is survived by her daughter Susan Stacy (Joe) of Virginia Beach, VA, 3 sons, Bob Beckwith (Margaret) of Fredericksburg, VA, Jim Hurt (Anita) of Nokesville, VA, Chris Hurt (Misty) of Concord, NC. She had 8 grandchildren that made her extremely proud, Michelle Neal, David Neal, Sean Neal, Dr. Margaret E. Beckwith, Robert W. Beckwith, Tommy Hurt, Marie Hurt, Krista Hart & Corey Hurt, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lastly, we can’t forget her companion and confident over the last 12 years – Alley Cat.
The family would like to extend a warm thanks to all those family and medical professionals that helped care for Mom during her prolonged illness, especially the Mary Washington Hospital Hospice team.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held February 4, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. at the Falls Run Clubhouse in Fredericksburg, VA. A funeral service will take place 11 a.m. on March 4, 2022 at the Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the SPCA, a Place of Worship or favorite charity."
