Jimmy Wayne Gustison died at his home in Hot Springs, Arkansas on Thursday, February 5, 2009. Mr. Gustison was born, April 4, 1935, in Burlington, Iowa, son of Carl Walter Gustison and Fern L. Bendix. He graduated from Burlington High School and served two years in the United States Air Force Cadets. On March 23, 1979, he married Peggy Wilson Cutler in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Gustison owned and operated multiple grocery stores in Iowa for 20 years before moving to Arkansas. He owned and operated restaurants in Little Rock for 11 years and most recently owned Grannys Kitchen in Hot Springs for 14 years until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas and served as chairmen of the Dirt Dauber Ministry. He was also a Master Craftsman R/C Model Builder and was a member of the Hot Springs R/C Model Club. An avid gardener, he was a Master Gardener and a charter member of the Garvan Woodland Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Gustison; his mother, Fern L. Gustison, of Laurens, South Carolina; his son, Wayne and his wife, Rhonda of Byron, New York; a daughter, Brenda Standke and her husband, Michael of Aurora, Colorado; stepson, Frank Milton Cutler and wife Gina of Bryant, Arkansas, stepdaughter, Angie Meek and husband David of Maumelle, Arkansas, stepson, Chris Cutler and wife Kelly of Sherwood, Arkansas. He has nine grandchildren and a sister, Gloria Erlewine and husband Jim of Laurens, South Carolina. Visitation will be Sunday, 5-7 P.M., February 8, 2009, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 9, 2009 in the chapel at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Beyer officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery. Pallbearers are Michael Standke, David Meek, Daniel Standke, Robert Cutler, Dwight Wilson and Ronnie Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Garvan Woodland Gardens or First Lutheran Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
