STARRY, James G. - Eld. James G. Starry was born in Indiana Nov. 13, 1864; died at Cherokee City, Ark. last Saturday at the home of our noble Bro. T.D. Dickson. Bro. Starry began preaching several years back. His great love for the cause of his master with ardent Zeal advanced him rapidly to the front. He was readily acknowledged the ablest Christian minister we have ever met. The funeral services were conducted by the writer at the Christian church Sunday at 2 o'clock p.m. He being so very dear to me the talk was made with much difficulty. Scores of grief stricken mourners shed tears of love over this good man's death. From the church we repaired with the largest funeral procession I ever witnessed here) to the Dickson burying ground where we consigned the body to its final resting place. D.C. Shannon.
