James (Jim) R. Cook, 67, a United States veteran and resident of Perryville, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born April 18, 1948 in McComb, Mississippi.
Jim was survived by his wife of 46 years, Sherry Dawson Cook of Perryville; three married children, Brandon Cook (Rhonda), Theresa Craig (Jesse), and J.R. Cook (Shannon); eight grandchildren, Paige, Brittany, Haley, Brandon Keith, Madilyn, Zoey, and Kori; two great grandchildren, Ethan and Marley.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Corbin; mother, Beatrice Ready; father, Walter Cook; and step-father, J.C. Ready. He leaves behind one brother, Walter Cook, Jr. and four sisters, Dottie Lozeau (Mike), Brenda Edens (Steve), Lisa Kerkhoff (Frank), and Patty Cook, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. Danny Barker officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to service. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
