August 10, 1913 - September 29, 1965
Victor Shirey, 52, of Rt. 2, Strong, died in a local hospital Wednesday afternoon. Shirey was born Aug. 10, 1913 in Strong and was the son of Roland and Lorene Kewkirk Shirey. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Claudie Frisby of Selma, Calif., Mrs. Virginia Gates of Strong, and Mrs. Helen Sisco of Crossett; and one brother, John Shirey of Strong. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Green Grove Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Zeke Frisby officiating. Burial will be in the New London Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mark Bishop, Mack Ables, Hershall Sisco, Jerry Sisco, John Dalton, and Ralph Gray. The body will be taken to the home Thursday afternoon. (El Dorado Times - September 30, 1965)
