Charles Leslie Burks, 75, of Walnut Ridge died at his residence on Friday, June 30, 2023. He was born on January 19, 1949 to James Emmit Burks and Minnie Lee Anderson Burks in Lepanto, Arkansas. He was married to the late Phyllis Monroe Burks. Charles was a framer and had lived in the Walnut Ridge and Black Rock area most of his life. He was a member of New Life Full Gospel Church in Black Rock.

Preceding him in death: his wife, Phyllis; his daughter, Leslie Diane Burks; his great granddaughter, Khloie Faith Wade; his sisters, Stella Copeman and Wilma Burks; and his brothers, James Duckworth, J.C. Burks, and Mike Burks.

Left to mourn his passing are his three daughters, Malisa (Royce) Riley of Black Rock, Barbara Cox of Pocahontas, and Paula Nixon of Pocahontas; his brothers, Bob (Pat) Burks of Lynn and Warren Miller of Walnut Ridge; his sister, Shirley (Leroy) Holm of Lynn, twelve grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 3, 2023 at 12 to 2pm at House-Gregg Funeral Chapel. The funeral services will be held at 2pm at House Gregg Funeral Home with Chad Burton officiating.

Burial will be in Kelley Cemetery under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Homes of Walnut Ridge & Lynn, Arkansas.
