BEAUCHAMP, Maggie - Sweet little Maggie Beauchamp, daughter of Eld. H. and Mrs. Beauchamp, whom we mentioned last week as being ill, died Tuesday night about 9 o'clock. While returning home from Prairie Grove a couple of weeks ago she was taken with a severe cold which soon developed into a serious case of pneumonia. By skillful work Dr. Christian succeeded in breaking up the pneumonia but he had no sooner done so than he found himself confronted with a case of membranous croup. Nothing he could do seemed to check the dread disease and Drs. Young and Furgason were also called in and these three gentlemen brought to bear all the resources of skilled practitioners but to no avail and she gently fell asleep. The funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday afternoon, being conducted by Elds. Miller and Phillips, and the remains were tenderly laid to rest in Bluff Cemetery immediately afterwards. It is sad to contemplate the death of this little child. She was four years old, was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Beauchamp and was the life and sunshine of the little family circle. Her bright smile and winning ways attracted every one with whom she came in contact and there are others besides her fond parents who will miss her. No one who has not undergone a like experience can appreciate the deep grief of Mr. and Mrs. Beauchamp but in their sorrow they have the tender sympathy of the entire community.
