Johnny P. Cruse, 74 of Strawberry, died Friday June 9, 2023 at his home.
He was born December 9, 1948 in Paragould, AR to Estel Cruse and Tressie Lee Birmingham Cruse Lawson. He was a loving father and grandfather. He served his country during the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense medal, Vietnam Service Medal (with 2 Bronze Stars), Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Air Medal. He achieved this while serving two tours. Johnny was of the Christian belief.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Tressie; brothers, Wayne Cruse and Donnie Cruse; and nephew, Jonathan McGee.
He is survived by his daughter, Niki (Nate) Schwartz of Russellville; sisters, Elva Holder of Saffell and Judy (Cliff) McGee of TX; brothers, Tony Lawson of Russellville, David Lawson of Jacksonville, and Rick Cruse of North Little Rock; 3 granddaughters, Kynli Harrison, Jayli (Zak) Holt, and Ayden Schwartz; and many other families and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday June 11, 2023 from 2:00PM-3:00PM at the Strawberry Church of Christ.
Funeral services begin at 3:00PM at the Strawberry Church of Christ with Greg Cooper officiating. Naval military honors will immediately follow the service.
Burial will be in Old Lebanon Cemetery under direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge & Lynn, AR.
