Glenn Ross Leake, age 80 of Junction City, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, following a brief illness.
Glenn was born on March 15, 1942 in the New Home community in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana to the late Emma Mae Moncrief Leake and Marcus Leake.
Glenn was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Junction City, where he loved to serve God and his church. He was retired from Columbian Chemical where he worked for 32 years. Anyone who knew Glenn knew that retirement was not for him. He was currently employed by MidSouth Pharmacy Associates where he worked for 20 years. Working and staying busy was the key to happiness for Glenn. The staff at the pharmacy became his 2nd family whom he loved, along with many nursing employees he delivered medicine to.
Glenn was a faithful husband of 55 years. He took wonderful care of Marie which, was his full- time job. His love for his daughters was endless, and they adored him.
Glenn’s five grandchildren were his pride and joy. He had a special relationship with each one, which they will cherish forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Emma Mae Leake.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Leake of Junction City; two daughters, Paige Shipman and husband Dale of Little Rock, and Jill Wilson and husband Kendall of Junction City; Five
Grandchildren, Stella Shipman, Elle Shipman, both of Little Rock, Emma Wilson, Finley Wilson and Grey Wilson all of Junction City; One brother, Bruce Leake; a niece, Gerri Adcox and a nephew, Mark Leake all of Texas; Also, numerous special cousins and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Junction City, with Bro. Jim Bynum officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Junction City, AR.
