Retired NLRFD Captain Robert “Rob” Barton, age 63 years old, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away at 7:12pm on June 29, 2022 at Baptist Springhill. Rob was born on March 11, 1959 to Robert and Shirley Barton (Fields) in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Rob graduated from NLR High School in 1977 and was hired on at the NLR Fire Department September 8, 1987 and then retired as Captain on June 30, 2015.
Rob volunteered on the board at the Gravel Ridge Fire Department for 7 years after retirement. He served as a board member at Christian Assembly of God for 21 years as well as served as the Hospitality Leader.
In 1984 Rob met his wife, Pamela (Roulston) Barton at Wendy’s in NLR, Arkansas and married on May 11, 1985.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert Bernard Barton and mother, Shirley Ruth Fields. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Barton; daughter, Jennifer Coffer (Barton); grandson, Knox Coffer; granddaughter, Kalia Coffer; son-in-law, Aaron Coffer; and brothers, Steve Barton (wife Judy) and Mark Barton (wife Elaine) along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Rob’s favorite past time was to talk about the Arkansas Razorbacks “HOGS” to anyone that would listen, and he always looked forward to participating in his Krav Maga classes weekly.
Rob was a dedicated servant to the Lord and his dedication and love for Jesus has inspired so many others. He was devoted in reading Psalm’s 91 and his daily Bible plan every morning accompanied by his wife and a cup of black coffee. Rob had a humble servant-like personality, and was an encouragement to so many.
Visitation will be 10:00AM-11:00AM Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Christian Assembly of God (10601 Hwy 107) with a funeral service following at 11:00AM. Burial will be at Sumner Cemetery.
